Renee is a pediatric, school certified occupational therapist. Ms. Sebok is stated licensed to practice in New Jersey and is nationally certified by the National Board of Occupational Therapy. Renee holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Occupational therapy from Thomas Jefferson University Pennsylvania. During the course of undergraduate and graduate studies, Renee focused on developing home programming for children with autism using applied behavioral analysis techniques. She worked very closely with families and schools in an effort to make the children she serviced have greater consistency and success.
Upon graduation from Thomas Jefferson, Renee worked in Northern NJ at a parent cooperative program for children with autism and PDD. This program was comprised of a strong interdisciplinary model between parents, speech, occupational and social work professionals using a developmental and floor -time approach to teaching children.
Renee was a senior occupational therapist at a pediatric rehabilitation facility in central NJ where she evaluated and treated children with a wide variety of special needs in early intervention, school, social skills group, and outpatient settings. Here she was the assessment specialist for early intervention for children with autism and also helped to develop a curriculum for use by early intervention clients and therapists. Renee has an in depth background in both sensory integration and applied behavioral analysis and has focused on working with families and staff in various sites to utilize these two frames of reference together for better program continuity.
Renee has worked with many different professionals, with many different mindsets, and has learned to meld these different schools of thought to think more comprehensively in order to help children achieve best success. Now having two children of her own, Renee also brings the appreciation of how it is for a parent to incorporate everything their child needs into one day which has brought another vantage point to her therapeutic approach.
Renee continues to participate in advanced training through seminars. She has enhanced her skills by participating in educational programs for managing vision deficits, therapeutic taping, sensory integration, handwriting, neuroanatomy, feeding, seating and positioning as well as other seminars to help expand her practice skills and knowledge.
