



Irina Yulis MA, CCC-SLP
Irina Yulis is a state licensed and school certified speech pathologist. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Hunter College, and a Master's degree in Speech-language Pathology from New York University. She has used her knowledge in both fields to work with children and adults with various disabilities.
While at United Cerebral Palsy, Staten Island NY, Irina specialized in enhancing speech, language, and communication skills of adults with Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, and stroke. She evaluated individuals requiring Augmentative Communication devices (AAC), selected appropriate devices to meet the patients' needs, performed swallowing evaluations and feeding therapies, and devised long term and short term plans for successful treatment of oral-motor, articulation, fluency, and language deficits. Irina's commitment and dedication to working with the severely disabled population were also evident during her years at Bright Beginnings Learning Center, North Brunswick, NJ. There, she provided therapy for children ages 0-11 with autism and multiple disabilities. Irina has extensive experience in developing communication systems (Picture Exchange Communication Symbols (PECS)) for verbal and non-verbal students, incorporating Applied Behavior Amalysis (ABA) into treatment sessions, improving expressive, receptive, and pragmatic aspects of language, as well as evaluating and treating Russian speaking clients.
Irina Continues to grow as a therapist by working with a diverse population and attending workshops concerning the latest research in the field of speech-language pathology. She is now an integral staff member of both Pediatric Advantage and Accent On Hands. Her skills, experiences, and warm demeanor are assets to the ongoing pediatric speech pathology program, as well as the adult speech pathology program that is now available at Accent on Hands.
